Mekala Keshu, VP Conference

What do you love about SWIB? Meeting women from so many backgrounds and getting chances to learn and grow alongside them.

Favorite SWIB memory: The 2021 SWIB Conference. I still listen to the advice of our speaker, Asahi Pompey from Goldman Sachs. She said to fully commit to your choices to do justice to them and if you are high maintenance in every other aspect of your life, then be high maintenance with yourself - prioritize you and your self care!

Favorite part about Stern: Getting to forge bonds across all the MBA cohorts, like the FLUX and Tech MBA programs. I've gotten to meet such interesting, genuine people with similar interests and learn from their experiences and areas of expertise.

Advice for women considering pursuing business school: Think about what you really want to get out of the program. It might take a semester to figure it out - but find what's important to you (academic excellence, club leadership, social connections, etc...) and focus your energies in a few of those areas. The temptation to do everything is there, but this intentionality can help create a really meaningful, fulfilling personal experience.

Fun Fact: I partly grew up in Sweden and learned Swedish when I was nine!
