Nate Pettit

Nate Pettit is an Associate Professor of Management and Organizations and the founder and Faculty Director of Stern’s Leadership Accelerator. He currently teaches & “Leadership in Organizations” in the full-time MBA program, “Leadership” in the focused one-year MBA programs, “Leadership Training for High Potentials” in the EMBA program, and has delivering custom executive education short courses and seminars on leadership and team dynamics to a variety of Fortune 500 companies.

Professor Pettit’s research focuses on status dynamics, competition, and cross-cultural psychology. His work has been published in multiple management and psychology journals and featured in a variety of popular media outlets. He has won numerous awards for his research and teaching, including being named to Poets and Quants “40 most outstanding MBA professors under 40,” best paper awards at both the Academy of Management and INGRoup conferences, the Stern Distinguished Teaching Award, and in 2019 was voted the “MBA Professor of the Year” at Stern.

Professor Pettit received his BS and PhD at Cornell University and an MA from Columbia University.
